Sites

Nationwide, at two types of site.

Germany

GDI develops sites across Germany. What matters is not the region but the grid connection: transmission nodes with connection capacity for new large loads, and industrial and power plant sites where a large connection already exists. We present specific sites to municipalities, grid operators and operators on request.

Site types

  • Greenfield at transmission nodes

Contiguous land at 380 kV substations or lines, secured via options. Grid connection in the TSO maturity-level procedure, building rights via special-use zoning for data centres.

  • Brownfield with existing grid connection

Former industrial plants, mills, smelters and power stations where a large grid connection is in place. The existing connection capacity and infrastructure shorten the path to the grid.
